Abstract

This chapter presents the outcomes from the needs analysis study performed on key competence acquisition (KCA) in Spain. This study is one of the outcomes of the TRANSIt project (TRANSversal key competences for lifelong learning: TraIning teachers in competence based education). The needs analysis have been performed with the goal to inform the development of a training framework for teachers and trainers. This addresses the need for teacher training as stated in one of the quality indicators proposed by the European Commission, i.e. investment in training of teachers and trainers (Official Journal of the European Union, 2009).
