Scientific research has been an important part of the activity at the Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona (Natural Science Museum of Barcelona) since it was founded. Our aim is to study and interpret the diversity of life and the geological structures that support it, giving special emphasis to Mediterranean environments. Activity focuses on research based on collections and the study of species in their natural environment, evaluating their interactions with the environment and with each other.
