Cloud-based LaTeX editors like Overleaf have revolutionized document preparation, partic- ularly in STEM fields, by offering intuitive interfaces and extensive formatting capabilities. This work explores the advantages of using these tools in collaborative projects, emphasizing efficiency, accessibility, version control, and formatting. A case study of students and super- visors enrolled in the European Project Semester is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this cloud-based editor. Results from 21 users, working in groups of 3 to 4, demonstrate that cloud-based LaTeX editors outperform Microsoft Word in reducing formatting time and improving review efficiency. Although there is an initial learning curve associated with LaTeX adoption, students value the real-time collaboration and accessibility features, which significantly enhance their productivity and the quality of their final projects.
