L'art en temps de la reina margarida: L'exhibició del poder i el desig de luxe

Abstract

[cat] Aquest text no pretén explicar la relació entre la reina Margarida de Prades i la producció artística de la seva època. El seu objectiu és a la vegada més simple i més ampli. Aspira a oferir una visió general sobre alguns aspectes concrets però importants de la creació artística de l’entorn cronològic del 1400 en el marc geogràfic de l’Europa occidental, amb especial èmfasi en el món catalanoaragonès. L’art d’aquest temps en aquests territoris s’emmarca en el que la historiografia ha anomenat «gòtic internacional», i es pot caracteritzar, a grans trets, per la unificació de les formes i el desig de luxe.

[eng] This text goes beyond a mere attempt to explain the relationship between Queen Margaret of Prades and the artistic production of her time and instead offers an overview of certain specific and important aspects of artistic creation in the 1400s in Western Europe, with particular emphasis on the Catalan-Aragonese context. The art of this period in these territories falls within what historiography has called «international Gothic», and can be broadly characterised by the unification of forms and a desire for luxury.
