Abstract

[eng]This book “Contact Zones in Contemporary Art. Practices, Connectivity, Agencies” is the result of the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) Erasmus+ project 2022-2023, and is conceptualized as a structure of artistic practices that draw on the moment of crisis in search of redefinitions, connectivity and re-existence. It explores the relationship between language, representation, and reality to highlight the ways in which the meaning is constructed through signs, symbols, and codes, shaping our understanding of the world. The concepts that relate 63 contributions range from queering, undoing, unlearning, moving, documenting, living, caring, remembering, and encountering in ways that invite nonlinear, intertextual reading. In the abstraction of a color that in itself says much, and in the number of sections we thought of a decolonial language that addresses the legacy of colonialism and acknowledges the importance of centering marginalized voices from diverse cultural perspectives, reclaiming disempowered, and experimental knowledge systems. The contact zones for possible interrelations are literally in the hands of the reader.

Practices, Connectivity, Agencies” es el resultado del proyecto BIP Erasmus+ 2022-2023 y esta conceptualizado en base a una estructura de prácticas artísticas en busca de redefiniciones, conectividad y reexistencia en el contexto de crisis global. Explora las relaciones entre lenguaje, representación y realidad para resaltar las formas en las que el significado se construye a través de signos, símbolos y códigos, dando forma a nuestra comprensión del mundo. Los conceptos que relacionan 63 contribuciones van desde queerizar, deshacer, desaprender, mover, documentar, vivir, cuidar, recordar y encontrarse de maneras que invitan a la lectura intertextual no lineal. En la abstracción de un color que en sí mismo dice mucho, y en la cantidad de secciones, pensamos en un lenguaje decolonial que aborde el legado del colonialismo y reconozca la importancia de centrar las voces marginalizadas desde diversas perspectivas culturales, sistemas de conocimiento experimentales y del antipoder. Las zonas de contacto para posibles interrelaciones están literalmente en manos de lxs lectorxs.
