Abstract

This study explores the potential for increased energy production by using four distinct cooling techniques applied to photovoltaic (PV) modules in photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) systems for buildings. The simulations, conducted using PVSOL and MATLAB, evaluated the performance of a 160Wp c-Si PV module integrated with four different cooling systems at each location. To assess performance under varying climate conditions, three European cities were selected for the analysis of one week per season: Barcelona, Berlin, and Paris, each representing distinct latitudes and climatic conditions. Simulation results include the energy generated by the PV module, yields, and energy surplus obtained at each location for the different cooling systems under study.
