Resumen

This study uses time domain measurements to determine the magnetic field shielding effectiveness of materials within the frequency range of 200 kHz to 30 MHz. The setup, based on the IEEE 299, employs a shielded room and two loop antennas. A multitone waveform is used as the excitation signal to address dynamic range compression, a common challenge in broadband measurements. Validation through comparisons with frequency domain techniques shows that the time domain approach can reliably assess magnetic field SE up to 65 dB. The results suggest that this method is a viable alternative to vector network analyzer-based methods, offering comparable results with significantly reduced measurement time, making it well-suited for characterizing shielding materials in a variety of applications, including space.
