Política habitacional y crecimiento urbano: las capas de la morfotipología plasmadas en la ciudad

Abstract

The morphotypological analysis methodology developed in the Public Housing Workshop of the seventh semester of the Architecture career of the University of Chile is presented. The aim is for students to highlight the importance of public housing design, not only in architectural terms, but also in terms of interscale, understanding project decisions at the neighbourhood scale as their contribution to the formation of the city and the quality of life of its inhabitants. The exercise breaks down various Chilean residential projects at different times in their history, from three dimensions: the project intention of the complex residencial, the architectural typologies and the resulting urban form. The results show how, conditioned by the different political, social and economic contexts, as well as by the different forms of use and possibilities of consolidation, the configuration of our cities is, on the one hand, the expression of the various sociotypological models and, on the other, the manifestation of social processes over time.

Se presenta la metodología de análisis morfotipológico desarrollada en el Taller de Vivienda Pública de séptimo semestre de la carrera de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Chile. Se busca que los estudiantes releven la importancia del diseño habitacional público, no sólo en términos arquitectónicos, sino que también interescalar, comprendiendo las decisiones proyectuales en su escala barrial como su contribución a la formación de la ciudad y la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. El ejercicio desglosa diversos proyectos residenciales chilenos en distintos momentos de su historia, desde tres dimensiones: La intención proyectual del conjunto, las tipologías arquitectónicas y la forma urbana resultante. Los resultados muestran cómo, condicionada por los distintos contextos políticos, sociales y económicos, así como por las diversas formas de uso y posibilidades de consolidación, la configuración de nuestras ciudades es, por un lado, la expresión de los diversos modelos sociotipológicos y, por otro, la manifestación de procesos sociales en el tiempo.
