Pilot de PAM (Privilege Access Manager)

Abstract

Cada vegada més empreses es preocupen per la seguretat informàtica. Això es deu al fet que el nombre de ciberatacs augmenten cada dia que passa. Com moltes altres empreses, UPCnet ha decidit millorar la seva seguretat i ha volgut fer una prova implementant un "Privileged Access Manager" (PAM). En aquest treball es podrà veure tota la feina que s'ha dut a terme per tal d'escollir i implementar una de les solucions PAM existents en el mercat. El producte escollit ha estat Teleport, un PAM que disposa d'una versió totalment gratuïta i funcional tot i que amb algunes limitacions. S'ha decidit desplegar aquesta aplicació en un clúster de Kubernetes, ja que permet agrupar tots els components sota un mateix desplegament fent servir Helm, el gestor de paquets de Kubernetes. Cal destacar que només es tracta d'una prova pilot que servirà a UPCnet per decidir si vol implantar una d'aquestes solucions per gestionar els accessos a la seva infraestructura.

More and more companies are becoming concerned about IT security. This is due to the fact that the number of cyber-attacks is increasing every day. Like many other companies, UPCnet has decided to improve its security and wanted to perform a test by implementing a Privileged Access Manager (PAM). In this report you will be able to see all the work that has been carried out in order to choose and implement one of the PAM solutions available on the market. The product chosen was Teleport, a PAM that has a totally free and functional version although with some limitations. It has been decided to deploy this application in a Kubernetes cluster because it allows to group all the components under the same deployment using Helm, the Kubernetes package manager. It should be noted that this is only a pilot test that will help UPCnet to decide if it wants to implement one of these solutions to manage access to its infrastructure.
