Rhipidia domestica Osten Sacken is recorded as new to the Iberian Peninsula and its presence is confirmed back at least to 2017. Rhipidia domestica is distributed widely throughout the New World, and is characterized by subpectinate antennae with a distinctive color pattern, combined with distinct thoracic and wing patterns. The two previously known species of Rhipidia from the Iberian Peninsula both have males with bipectinate antennae and differently patterned wings.
