Dryophilastes crassipunctatus gen. n., sp. n. de Dryophilinae Le Conté, 1861, de la República de Sudáfrica, con revisión y clave genérica de la subfamilia (Coleóptera: Anobiidae)

Abstract

Con los datos obtenidos en el estudio de los Dryophilinae Le Conté, 1861 (Coleóptera: Anobiidae) se describe Dryophilastes gen. n., con su especie tipo Dryophilastes crassipunctatus sp. n. de la República de Sudáfrica (Transvaal: Berlín), próximo a Pseudodryophilus Heyden, 1891, pero separado por el protórax con la base rebordeada, no lobulada en su parte media y por el edeago totalmente asimétrico. Se cambia el status genérico a Homophthalmus rufithorax (Pie, 1912), descrito como Dryophilus Chevrolat, 1832. Se invalida el género Mesanobium Sharp, 1882, de Nueva Zelanda por sinonimia con Sphinditel.es Broun, 1881, de Australia. Se sitúa al género Pachotelus Solier, 1849, de Chile, en la subfamilia Eucradinae Le Conté, 1861. Adjuntándose clave genérica y distribución geográfica déla subfamilia Dryophilinae Le Conté, 1861.

Data obtained in the study of the Dryophilinae Le Conté, 1861 (Coleóptera, Anobiidae) are used in this paper. We describe a new genus, Dryophilastes n. gen., with its type-specie, Dryophilastes crassipunctatus n. sp., from South África (Transvaal: Berlin). It is related to Pseudodryophilus Heyden, 1891, but mainly separated by the margínate base of pronotum, without median lobe and by aedeagus totally asyrnmetrical. It is proposed a new generic status for Homophthalmus rufithorax (Pie, 1912), formerly described as Dryophilus Chevrolat, 1832. Genus Mesanobium Sharp, 1882, from New Zealand is invalídated by synonymy with Sphinditeles Broun, 1 881, from Australia. Genus Pachotelus Solier, 1849, from Chile, is placed into the subfamily Eucradinae Le Conté, 1861. Generic keys and geographical distribution of the subfamily Dryophilinae Le Conté, 1861 are included.
