La Universitat Internacional de Catalunya té com un dels seus objectius la recerca en totes les àrees del saber. En aquest àmbit és on es desenvolupa plenament el lema de la UIC: Veritas Liberabit Vos ('La veritat us farà lliures'), és a dir, l'esforç per promoure el coneixement que ens acosta al perquè més íntim de les coses que ens condueix a la llibertat. Es tracta d'un esforç protagonitzat pels professors que dediquen el seu temps a la recerca i a formar persones lliures, amb criteri, capaces de produir noves idees i utilitzar les principals fonts de coneixement: l'observació, l'experimentació, la raó inductiva i la deductiva.

L'esperit investigador de la Universitat Internacional de Catalunya es veu reflectit en l'afany per formar nous doctors i en les nombroses publicacions científiques de professors vinculats a aquesta institució.
