El dret de préstec a les biblioteques: panorama internacional

Abstract

The article analyses the functioning of the different systems employed for compensating authors for the right of public lending in libraries. Following a historical review, the text explores the principal aspects covered by standards: libraries included, works affected, methods for calculating the compensations, economic costs of the systems and beneficiaries. The main conclusions make reference to the diversity of legislative approaches in different countries and to the probable increase in the number of countries that will be applying this type of norm in the coming years

S'analitza el funcionament de diversos sistemes de compensació als autors per drets de préstec en biblioteques. Després d'un resum històric del seu desenvolupament, s'estudien els principals aspectes que cobreixen aquestes normatives: biblioteques incloses, obres afectades, mètodes de càlcul de les compensacions, costos econòmics dels sistemes i beneficiaris dels drets. Les principals conclusions fan referència a la diversitat d'aproximacions legislatives en els diferents països i al probable creixement en el nombre d'estats que apliquin normes d'aquest tipus en els propers anys.
