dc.description.abstract
The editorial introduces the special issue "Affects as Pedagogies" of Matter: Journal of New Materialist Research (Vol. 1, No. 2, 2020). Starting from the “affective turn,” the editors explain how artists, educators and researchers have been exploring affect as a force that shapes bodies, spaces, knowledges and politics. The issue grows out of the international conference “Affects as pedagogy: Relation between space, time and bodies” held in November 2019 at Fundació Antoni Tàpies (Barcelona), and aims to show how affect can transform pedagogical practice and expand the very meaning of pedagogy from a feminist new materialist perspective.
