La representació de la Diputació a través de les seves seus territorials: les cases del General

Abstract

[cat] En el darrer quart del segle XVI la Diputació del General va aplicar un disseny homogeni de traça a les diverses seus que la representaven al llarg del territori català. Sense deixar d'atendre les funcions residencials i fiscals que totes desenvolupaven, aquestes edificacions havien de consolidar una imatge unívoca de projecció de poder econòmic i administratiu. El present estudi analitza la política expansiva desplegada per la institució en les principals poblacions del Principat a partir d'un determinat model constructiu, posant especial atenció en el que desenvolupà el fuster major Francesc Soldevila a les seus de Girona, Lleida, Tarragona i Tortosa.

[eng] In the last quarter of the 16th century the "Diputació del General" implemented an homogenous design for the buildings that symbolically represented the official institution throughout Catalonia. While serving the residential and fiscal functions they were to perform, these buildings had to consolidate an unambiguous image of economic and administrative power. The present study analyses the expansionary politics deployed by the institution in the main populations of the territory from a particular structural model, paying special attention in that developed by the architect Francesc Soldevila to the headquarters of Girona, Lleida, Tarragona and Tortosa.
