[cat] A més de la història, Jaume Vicens Vives va abordar l'estudi de la geografia i molt remarcablement l'especialitat, llavors en voga, de la geopolítica. Aquest article estudia les seves principals contribucions en aquest camp i les posa en relació amb l'època que va viure, posant l'accent alhora en l'esforç que realitzà en el camp de l'edició i redacció de manuals per a l'ensenyament.

[eng] While essentially an historian, Jaume Vicens Vives did also work in the field of geography, and very particularly in the then fashionable specialism of Geopolitics. This article examines his main contributions in this field and relates them to the times through which he lived, laying particular emphasis on his efforts in the editing and writing of textbooks.
