dc.description.abstract
The seeds treated with. gibberellin 10-6 M have RNA and protein levels higher than those of control seeds and have a greater germinative capacity. The kinetin 10-6 M increases the RNA levels mainly of the poly A+RNA fraction and of the seed proteins, which will have higher levels than the control seeds and than those treated with gibberellin. The kinetin treatment will give the higher germinative capacity. Gibberellin and kinetin treatments stimulate the primary metabolism but they do not stimulate the secondary metabolism, because the control seeds have higher nicotine levels than the treated seeds.
