Aristóteles y su concepción lingüística de un entorno cívico.

Abstract

La figura de Aristóteles aparece en las obras generales de la historia de la lingüística. Se estudia su contribución al pensamiento lingüístico con conceptos de gramática y lógica, así como del análisis del discurso retórico y poético. Tratan de él historiadores como W. Thomsen, fundador de la historia de la lingüística en 1902, R. H. Robins y otros más recientes, como R. Harris, T. J. Taylor y V. Law. Los comentarios de estos historiadores, diversos y en ocasiones incompatibles, ilustran sobre la condición dinámica de la historiografía y de la influencia de los paradigmas en su tarea crítica. La tesis del artículo es que el estudio integral de la obra de Aristóteles revela que fue un visionario de la reflexión lingüística, puesta al servicio de una función cívica. The figure of Aristotle appears in the all general works of the history of linguistics. His contribution to linguistic thought has been studied on his concepts of grammar and logic, as well as those of analysis of rhetorical and poetic discourse. Many historians have dealt with Aristotle historians. Of these, W. Thomsen, founder of the history of linguistics in 1902, R. H. Robins and others more recent, such as R. Harris, T. J. Taylor and V. Law, are taken into account here. The study of their comments, diverse and sometimes incompatible, illustrates the dynamic condition of historiography and the influence of paradigms in their critical task. The thesis of the paper is that the integral study of the work of Aristotle reveals that he was a visionary of linguistic reflection, placed at the service of a civic function.
