Procés de producció per a l'obtenció de biodièsel

Abstract

The occurring impact on the environment, mainly due to fossil energies, has awakened interest to replace them with friendly and sustainable energies towards the environment. In this project (Treball de Fi de Grau), the biodiesel production process is studied, from raw material to its obtaining. Animal fats, the chosen feedstock, are subjected to the transesterification method with the aid of basic catalysts in order to transform them into the desirable product, biodiesel. Then steps to produce it in a lab scale are proposed and also there is a proposal to industrial level production, taking into account the necessary devices and equipment, working conditions and the main analysis that are conducted throughout the process. Finally, it is concluded, in an indicative way, that the production of biodiesel from animal fats is profitable.
