Abstract

The goal of this thesis is to design and validate an analog hysteretic controller with direct output voltage control for use in high frequency switching DC-to-AC converters. The control loop will be centered around a relay element non-linearity, which is adjusted using the locus of the perturbed relay system (LPRS) methodology[1]. To improve the performance and viable working frequency range, the base converter structure will be adjusted through a parallel feed-forward compensator (PFC)[4] which will be designed such that the resulting replacement plant achieves almost strictly positive real-ness (ASPR)[9] criteria to ensure stability and good characteristics for a wide range of working conditions.
