dc.description.abstract
Compilation of abstracts of the lectures presented within the framework of the final Congress of the Erasmus+ BIO-FIBRE project, from October 27 to 28, 2025 in Barcelona.
dc.description.abstract
This Book of Abstracts documents the culmination of the Erasmus+ "Sustainable construction with bio-composite materials" (BIO-FIBRE) project, a three-year transnational collaboration aimed at decarbonizing the construction industry through innovative bio-based solutions. The collection details the development of student-centered educational methodologies and a joint curriculum designed to integrate bio-composites into architecture and engineering studies. Furthermore, the abstracts present diverse scientific research on the characterization and application of materials such as hemp, bamboo, earth, mycelium, and various agro-forestry residues, evaluating their mechanical performance, thermal properties, and durability within a circular economy framework. Ultimately, the document serves as a comprehensive record of the project's efforts to foster a greener built environment by bridging the gap between laboratory research and professional practice.
