Archigram, la revista: la representació gràfica com a suport de les idees

Abstract

Archigram, el grup revolucionari dels anys seixanta, fa el seu sorgiment a través d’una publicació en forma de revista el 1961 on manifesten una nova generació d’arquitectura. A través de la revista, els sis integrants principals del grup, Peter Cook, David Greene, Mike Webb, Dennis Crompton, Ron Herron i Warren Chalk, comuniquen un seguit d’idees i conceptes per mitjà de representacions amb la intenció de posar en qüestió l’arquitectura del moment i obrir debat de la següent.

El treball es centra en l’anàlisi i dissecció dels 10 números de la revista Archigram, compresos entre el 1961 i el 1974. Més en concret, es para l’ull en el format i el contingut tractat de cada una de les edicions, però sobretot en les representacions plasmades al llarg de les pàgines. Tot això per portar-nos a entendre el conjunt publicat de l’obra d’Archigram i la repercussió que va significar.

Archigram, the revolutionary group from the sixties, made its emergence through a publication in the form of a magazine in 1961 where they manifested a new generation of architecture. Through the magazine, the six main members of the group, Peter Cook, David Greene, Mike Webb, Dennis Crompton, Ron Herron and Warren Chalk, communicate a series of ideas and concepts via representations to question the architecture of the moment and open debate on the next.

The work focuses on the analysis and dissection of the 10 issues of the magazine Archigram, between 1961 and 1974. More specifically, there is a focus on the format and content of each of the editions but above all on the representations expressed throughout the pages. All this led us to understand the published set of Archigram’s work and its effects.
