Abstract

This work aims to streamline the process of analysis of flight limitations in mountainous areas. More specifically, the possibility of engine failure or depressurization in the en-route phase of flight is studied. Currently, this process is laborious and time-consuming, which is why it has been decided to create software that performs the entire procedure in a short period of time. In this way, the process will be faster and results will be obtained in just a few minutes. The software has been created thanks to Visual Studio, a Microsoft IDE, which allows the creation of applications in a more visual way. It uses the GMap.NET library to represent a map and routes. It also makes use of the Maps Elevation API to request elevations of the studied terrain. After finishing the creation of the program, results have been obtained for two routes that have been chosen for study. In the results, it can be seen that the program performs the process correctly and that the objective of performing the study in a short time is met. Finally, some recommendations for improving the program and enriching it are discussed.
