This report presents a complete procedure for performing a hybrid numerical-experimental topology optimization using displacements from the DIC method as well as a study on the sensitivity of the results with respect to the contact zone. The objective of Professor Miquel Casafont Ribera, at the origin of the project, is to propose with this hybrid optimization an alternative to the “full numerical simulation”. Indeed, in complex cases, it can be difficult to model the problem. With the previous studies of this project, it was possible to go through all the steps leading to the comparison of the results between the hybrid topology optimization and the “classical topology optimization”. Although the results were very similar, there were differences in the bottom left area of the optimized shape. This work made it possible to highlight the link between these differences and various parameters such as the position of the contact zone between the specimen and the support. With the last studied specimen of length 30mm, the project found its full meaning: not being able to obtain the same behaviour of the specimen as in reality, the hybrid topology optimization offers an alternative to the “full numerical simulation”
