Toulouse, Gilabertus i el seu reflex en l’escultura romànica a Catalunya

Abstract

L’anomenat mestre Gilabertus de Toulouse i la seva obra, datada a l’entorn de 1120, fou un punt de referència significatiu d’un dels moments més importants de l’escultura romànica catalana. Recents aproximacions a la matèria permeten oferir un balanç d’aquesta influència reconeguda, testimoni d’unes relacions entre els tallers escultòrics tolosans i catalans que no s’exhaureix en la consideració del cercle productiu d’aquest mestre.

The so-called master Gilabertus of Toulouse and his work, dated around 1120, was a significative reference term for one of the most important moments of the catalan romanesque sculpture. Recent approaches to this subject allow the offering of a balance on this acknowledged influence, a manifestation of the relationships between tolosan and catalan sculpture workshops that are wider than the consideration of this master’s productive circle.
