Within the context of the relationship between domestic dwellings and their associated balnea, various issues pertaining to thermal architecture are explored. Additionally, the decline of large public baths prompts inquiries into the viability of this model within the late antique urban landscape. Tarraco’s city and territory exemplify the dynamics of a Mediterranean coastal region, and despite the social and economic transformations within its historical context, thermal architecture offers an additional perspective on late antique building practices.
