Se describe Stagetodes natalensis n. sp. de Dorcatominae de la República de Sudáfrica,
especie muy bien definida por los caracteres externos y la conformación del edeago. Stagetodes
natalensis n. sp. y S. lineatopunctatus Español, 1974, son dos especies conflictivas
con relación a como estaba definido inicialmente el género Stagetodes Español, 1970.
Se comenta esta problemática y su comparativa con otras especies del género próximo Stagetus
Wollaston, 1861, y se realiza una redescripción de los caracteres propios del género
Stagetodes con relación a lo expuesto.

We describe Stagetodes natalensis sp. n. of Dorcatominae of the South Africa, species very
well defined by the external characters and the conformation of the aedeagus. Stagetodes
natalensis sp. n. and S. lineatopunctatus Español, 1974, are two peculiar species respect
to as was defined initially the genus Stagetodes Español, 1970. This problem and their comparative
with other species of the genus Stagetus Wollaston, 1861 are commented. The genus
Stagetodes is redescribed.
