Las cuentas claras: el rol de la mujer ibérica en la economía doméstica

Other title

This paper is based on an analysis of the distribution of artefacts in a variety of domestic contexts from Levantine Iberian sites, such as La Bastida, El Puntal dels Llops i El Castellet de Bernabé. The main results of this study demonstrate an important con-nexion linking maintenance activities, the production of metallurgy and administrative tasks. The evidence suggests that the production of silver artefacts was ca-rried out at the household level. In addition, these do-mestic contexts also reveal a series of objects, such as weights, lead writing tablets and keys, all connected to the realm of administrative affairs. All of these factors suggest that Iberian women were probably involved in the administrative aspects of the household economy.
