dc.description.abstract
The sudden death of Esteve Bassa has led to the transfer
of the Zygaenidae that were part of his collection to the Natural Sciences Museum of Barcelona. With
this donation, the conservation of the Zygaenidae is guaranteed, while their undoubted scientific interest
has been the cause of their cataloging and documentation. A total of 5.563 specimens and around 200
species and subspecies of Zygaena are mentioned and some of the most faunal interest is highlighted.

La mort sobtada d’Esteve Bassa ha comportat la cessió dels Zigènids que formaven part de la
seva coŀlecció al Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona. Amb aquesta donació queda garantida la
conservació de les zigenes, alhora que el seu indubtable interès científic ha estat la causa que se n’hagi
portat a terme la catalogació i documentació. S’esmenten un total de 5.563 exemplars i unes 200 espècies
i subespècies de Zigenes i se’n destaquen algunes amb més interès faunístic.
