Expected Riesz Energy of Some Determinantal Processes on Flat Tori

Marzo Sánchez, Jordi; Ortega Cerdà, Joaquim (Fecha de publicación: 2019-01-14)

We compute the expected Riesz energy of random points on flat tori drawn from certain translation invariant determinantal processes and de- termine the process in the family providing the optimal asymptotic expected Riesz energy.

A family of local rings with rational Poincare series

Elías García, Joan; Valla, Giuseppe (Fecha de publicación: 2016-03-18)

In this note we compute the Poincaré series of almost stretched Gorenstein local rings. It turns out that it is rational.

Canals, Pere; Balocco, Simone; Díaz, Oliver; Li, Jiahui; García-Tornel, Álvaro; Tomasello, Alejandro; Olivé-Gadea, Marta; Ribó Jacobi, Marc (Fecha de publicación: 2023-02-09)

Vascular tortuosity of supra-aortic vessels is widely considered one of the main reasons for failure and delays in endovascular treatment of large vessel occlusion in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Characterization ...

    A la recerca de pi

Bayer i Isant, Pilar, 1946-; Guàrdia, Jordi (Fecha de publicación: 2019-06-28)

Pla i Carrera, Josep (Fecha de publicación: 2019-07-04)

Des que Descartes a la Geométrie(1637) introdueix la diferència entre corbes geomètriques i corbes mecàniques, essent les primeres aquelles que poden expressar-se per mitjà d'equacions purament algèbriques, fins que Euler ...

Weak convergence to a class of two-parameter Gaussian processes from a Lévy sheet

Bardina i Simorra, Xavier; Rovira Escofet, Carles (Fecha de publicación: 2022-11-08)

In this paper, we show an approximation in law, in the space of the continuous functions on $[0,1]^2$, of two-parameter Gaussian processes that can be represented as a Wiener type integral by processes constructed from ...

    Fourier Transform and Prym varieties

Naranjo del Val, Juan Carlos (Fecha de publicación: 2023-05-02)

Let $P$ be the Prym variety attached to an unramified double covering $\tilde{C} \rightarrow C$. Let $X=X(\tilde{\boldsymbol{C}}, C)$ be the variety of special divisors which birationally parametrizes the theta divisor in ...

Using normal forms to study Oterma's transition in the Planar RTBP

Duarte, Gladston; Jorba i Monte, Àngel (Fecha de publicación: 2023-03-13)

Comet 39P/Oterma is known to make fast transitions between heliocentric orbits outside and inside the orbit of Jupiter. In this note the dynamics of Oterma is quantitatively studied via an explicit computation of high order ...

Cardiac magnetic resonance radiomics: basic principles and clinical perspectives

Raisi-Estabragh, Zahra; Izquierdo, Cristián; Campello Román, Víctor Manuel; Martin Isla, Carlos; Jaggi, Akshay; Harvey, Nicholas C.; Lekadir, Karim, 1977-; Petersen, Steffen E. (Fecha de publicación: 2021-03-09)

Radiomics is a novel image analysis technique, whereby voxel-level information is extracted from digital images and used to derive multiple numerical quantifiers of shape and tissue character. Cardiac magnetic resonance ...

    Harmonic measure and uniform densities

Ortega Cerdà, Joaquim; Seip, Kristian (Fecha de publicación: 2020-06-08)

We study two problems concerning harmonic measure on certain 'champagne subdomains' of the unit disk $\D$. The domains that we consider are obtained by removing from $\D$ little disks around sequences of points with a ...

Nonlinear transport equations and quasiconformal maps

Clop, Albert; Sengupta, Banhirup (Fecha de publicación: 2025-06-10)

We prove existence of solutions to a nonlinear transport equation in the plane, for which the velocity field is obtained as the convolution ofthe classical Cauchy kernel with theunknown. Even though the initial datum is ...

On Stability of Logarithmic Tangent Sheaves: Symmetric and Generic Determinants

Faenzi, Daniele; Marchesi, Simone (Fecha de publicación: 2023-03-06)

We prove stability of logarithmic tangent sheaves of singular hypersurfaces $D$ of the projective space with constraints on the dimension and degree of the singularities of $D$. As the main application, we prove that ...

Social network extraction and analysis based on multimodal dyadic interaction

Escalera Guerrero, Sergio; Baró i Solé, Xavier; Vitrià i Marca, Jordi; Radeva, Petia; Raducanu, Bogdan (Fecha de publicación: 2014-04-08)

Social interactions are a very important component in people"s lives. Social network analysis has become a common technique used to model and quantify the properties of social interactions. In this paper, we propose an ...

Characterization of quantum entanglement via a hypercube of Segre embeddings

Cirici, Joana; Salvadó Serra, Jordi; Taron i Roca, Josep (Fecha de publicación: 2023-01-20)

A particularly simple description of separability of quantum states arises naturally in the setting of complex algebraic geometry, via the Segre embedding. This is a map describing how to take products of projective Hilbert ...

Topological features of multivariate distributions: Dependency on the covariance matrix

Aromi, Lloyd L.; Katz, Yuri A.; Vives i Santa Eulàlia, Josep, 1963- (Fecha de publicación: 2023-02-20)

Topological data analysis provides a new perspective on many problems in the domain of complex systems. Here, we establish the dependency of mean values of functional $p$ norms of 'persistence landscapes' on a uniform ...
