This article sets out to describe the approach adopted by Keiji Nishitani, one of the most representative members of the Kyoto School, to the problem of the end of me- taphysics and nihilism. Since it is no longer considered to be an exclusively Western phenomenon, Nishitani proposes establishing a dialoge between the cultures rooted in the Christian and Buddhist traditions. He focuses his attention on the notion of nothing- ness, not in the sense of the negation of being, but in the religious realisation of being as nothing. |
