Abstract:

The maximum coherent integration time of GNSS reflected (GNSS-R) signals over sea depends on the sea state, as well as on the geometry formed by the receiver, the GNSS satellite and the reflection point. In this paper, real data obtained with a dedicated airborne instrument named MALYGNSS (Multi-band Airborne L-Band reflectometrY with GNSS) is used to acquire GPS L1 C/A and L2C, and Galileo E1OS signals. The direct signals are used as a reference to detect any phase shift due to data bits changes and the presence of a residual Doppler frequency. These phase transitions are removed in the reflected signals, and coherent correlations of different lengths are performed in order to study sea correlation time. |
