More examples of Italianism in XIVth Century Catalonian sculpture: the Madonna of St. Medir

La Mare de Déu de Sant Medir, conservada actualment al Museo Diocesà de Barcelona, presenta relacions estilístiques i iconogràfiques amb l'obra de dos artistes toscans: Andrea i Nino Pisano. Cal atribuir la peça a un artífex català coneixedor de l'escultura italiana i que la realitzaria entre mitjans segle i 1370/1375 aproximadament.
The image of Our Lady of St. Medir, kept at the Barcelona Diocesan Museum, shows stylistic and iconographic relations with the work of two Toscan artists: Andrea and Nino Pisano. We could attribute the piece to a Catalan artist, knowledgeable about the Italian sculpture. He could probably have done it between the middle of the 14th Century and the years 1370/75 approximately.
