Abstract

En este artículo se examina cómo la derecha y la ultraderecha españolas se han apropiado del discurso del victimismo de los hombres para redefinir la noción de igualdad de género. A partir de los discursos de Isabel Díaz Ayuso y de la polémica en torno al registro de una fundación para hombres maltratados en Valencia, se analiza cómo se construye un relato que presenta a los hombres como víctimas. Se sostiene que la escasa resonancia institucional ante determinados malestares masculinos -incluidas las iniciativas procedentes de sectores de izquierdas e igualitarios, como los colectivos de hombres por la igualdad -ha generado un vacío que los sectores reaccionarios han aprovechado para legitimar su agenda y poner en cuestión el relato feminista

This article examines how the Spanish right and far-right have appropriated the discourse of male abuse to redefine the concept of gender equality. Drawing on the speeches of Isabel Díaz Ayuso and the controversy surrounding the registration of a foundation for abused men in Valencia, it analyzes how a narrative is constructed that portrays men as victims. The article argues that the lack of response from the left and feminism to certain forms of male discomfort has been exploited by reactionary sectors to legitimize their agenda and challenge the feminist narrative
