Dos son los criterios biológicos que pueden resumir el estado actual de la Arqueología en el marco de las enseñanzas universitarias públicas en España. El primero es el concepto de la adaptaciónal medio, proceso por el cual los profesores hemos ido aplicando sin tiempo para la reflexión las sucesivas leyes y decretos de reforma de nuestro sistema universitario. Tras estas reformas, obligadas para adaptarnos al nuevo EEES, resulta hoy francamente difícil encontrar dos Universidades españolas cuyas enseñanzas en Arqueología coincidan entre sí. El segundo criterio corresponde al instinto de supervivencia en ambientes hostiles. Gracias al mismo algunos estudiantes, llevados tan solo de su entusiasmo personal, consiguen salir adelante en grados, másteres y doctorados.
