The aim of this project is to provide a solution to the fleet sizing for the
company Panopa Logistics Poland. It is achieved by doing an analysis and simulation of
the activities that take part in the transportation process of products between the
Panopa’s warehouse and the Volkswagen’s production line.
With a representative sample of the commands served and its time schedule, it is
possible to obtain the regressions for generating a random duration for all the activities
in the process. With this, and taking into account the actual operation of the company,
the research provides the solution with the minimum necessary fleet size for the correct
running of the process.
The model and the simulations are done with the ExtendSim V6 software, which
allows creating models of a simplest reality, in this case as a discrete event. From this
analysis the necessary size of the fleet is determined.
A sensibility analysis is finally done in order to determinate the intervals in
between the variables of the process should be to guarantee the correct motion of the
process with the number of vehicles chosen from the first study |
