PREGUNTA DE LA REVISIÓN. ¿Son efectivas las técnicas basadas en fisioterapia en el abordaje del prolapso genital femenino para corregir dicho prolapso? OBJETIVO. Evaluar la efectividad del tratamiento fisioterapéutico en mujeres que padezcan prolapso genital. METODOLOGÍA. Métodos de búsqueda: La búsqueda se llevó a cabo entre noviembre de 2015 a febrero de 2016 en las bases datos PubMed, Biblioteca Cochrane Plus, PeDro y Scopus. Criterios de selección: Ensayos clínicos Experimentales de Control Aleatorio en lengua castellana, catalana e inglesa publicados a partir de 2010 acerca del tratamiento fisioterapéutico del prolapso genital femenino. Recopilación y análisis de datos: Se analizó la calidad metodológica y el riesgo de sesgo en los estudios incluidos mediante el “Critical Review Form-Quantitative Studies” y la herramienta de colaboración Cochrane respectivamente. RESULTADOS. Los estudios incluidos en la revisión fueron publicados entre 2010 y 2014 e incluyen un total de 708 participantes con prolapso genital de grados I, II y III. CONCLUSIÓN. Los estudios incluidos sugieren que la gimnasia abdominal Hipopresiva y el entrenamiento de la musculatura del suelo pélvico resultan más eficaces en el tratamiento de la sintomatología del prolapso genital femenino en grados I y II que otros procedimientos ajenos a la fisioterapia. |

REVIEW QUESTION. Are techniques based on physiotherapy effective in female genital prolapse treatment?. OBJECTIVE. To evaluate the effectiveness of treatment based on physical therapy in women suffering from genital prolapse. METHODOLOGY. Search methods: The search was conducted from November 2015 to February 2016 in PubMed, Cochrane Library, PeDro and Scopus data. Selection criteria: Randomized control trials in Spanish, Catalan and English published since 2010. Data collection and analysis: The methodological quality and the risk of bias in the studies included in the reviewwere evaluated using the "Critical Review analyzed Form- Quantitative Studies "and the Cochrane collaboration tool respectively. RESULTS. The studies included in the review were published between 2010 and 2014 and include a total of 708 participants with genital prolapse, grades I, II and III. CONCLUSION. The included studies suggest that abdominal hipopressive gymnastics and pelvic floor muscles training are more effective in treating the symptoms of female genital prolapse in grades I and II than others procedures. |
