Abstract:

This report details a computational fluid dynamics analysis of the TECHNOwind
turbine, a vertical-axis wind turbine produced by Ficosa renovables.
Three-dimensional simulations were performed using the resources of the
Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC) to investigate the performance of
the turbine and visualise the flow through its rotor. By considering the results
Ficosa will ultimately be able to decide whether they should collaborate with the BSC more often for the improvement of their designs. |
