Nueva información sobre el urbanismo de la ciudad romana de Complutum a partir de los últimos estudios geofísicos. Las prospecciones de 2020 y 2021

Abstract

Se presentan los resultados de la prospección geofísica realizada en 2020 y 2021 en las regiones I y II de la ciudad romana de Complutum. Exponiéndose las características técnicas de la prospección y los resultados obtenidos, que han servido para explicar una parte de los deterioros en la conservación del yacimiento, ratificar la hipótesis de un diseño urbano ortogonal centrado en manzanas de 30 por 30 m, plantear dudas sobre una posible alineación de calles alternativa en parte de la regio I y constatar varios edificios singulares de importancia, principalmente el que se interpreta como un santuario urbano de grandes dimensiones.

This paper presents the results of the geophysical survey carried out in 2020 and 2021 in regions I and II of the Roman city of Complutum. Exposing the technical characteristics of the prospection and the results obtained, which have served to explain a part of the deterioration in the conservation of the site, ratify the hypothesis of an orthogonal urban design focused on blocks of 30 by 30 m, raise doubts about a possible alternative street alignment in part of the region I and verify several unique buildings of importance, mainly the one interpreted as a large urban sanctuary.
