Arqueologia i boom immobiliari: el cas de la Plaça Major de Vila-real

Abstract

L’arqueologia i el boom constructiu de la primera dècada del segle XXI han estat íntimament relacionades. En el cas les següents línies s’analitzarà aquesta connexió a través de les excavacions de la plaça Major de Vila-real l’any 2005 amb motiu de la construcció d’un pàrquing subterrani i que van comportar l’aparició d’una seqüència estratigràfica des del segle XX fins a l’edat mitjana. Posteriorment, les restes van ser completament destruïdes, desapareixent una informació força valuosa per entendre el passat de la localitat.

The archaeology and the boom of the housing market in the firsts years of the XXI century have closely related. In the next words will be analyzed this connection between the example of archaeological excavation in the main square of Vila-real in 2005 because of the construction of an underground car park where appeared archaeological sequences from the XX century until the Middle Ages. Posteriorly, the archaeological remains have been destroyed, disappearing very important information about the past of the city.
