Fortificaciones y poliorcética en el mundo fenicio-púnico: una revisión historiográfica necesaria

Abstract

La arquitectura militar y la poliorcética han gozado siempre de un gran interés por parte de los estudiosos del mundo clásico. A griegos y romanos se les ha otorgado un papel fundamental en la introducción, desarrollo y difusión de conceptos militares en todo el ámbito mediterráneo. Sin embargo, nunca se ha tenido en consideración la importancia que tuvo la civilización fenicio-púnica en esta materia. En el presente artículo intentaremos dar a conocer a los investigadores interesados en las fortificaciones y la guerra de asedio en la Antigüedad, o simplemente en el mundo fenicio-púnico, los trabajos de síntesis que se han ocupado de este tema en cuestión y que pueden servir como introducción o referente para sus propios estudios.

Military architecture and poliorcetic have always enjoyed great interest by scholars of the classical world. The Greeks and Romans have been given a fundamental role in the introduction, development and diffusion of military concepts throughout the Mediterranean area. However, the importance of the Phoenician-Punic civilization in this matter has never been taken into considera tion. In this article we will try to make known to researchers interested in fortifications and siege warfare in Antiquity, or simply in the Phoenician-Punic world, the synthesis works that have dealt with this subject in question and that can serve as a guide or reference for your own studies.
