Agujas de tipo Arelate en Hispania: testigos terrestres de un comercio mediterráneo

Abstract

Con este artículo damos a conocer un tipo muy concreto de agujas de bronce, que hemos bautizado como tipo Arelate, las cuales pensamos serían utilizadas para el reenvasado de mercancías costosas durante el desembarco de un barco a otro, o en el cambio de un modo marítimo a otro de terrestre, y casi siempre dentro de un contexto mediterráneo.

With this article we present a very specific type of bronze needle, which we have named the Arelate type. We think that they would have been used for the repackaging of valuable trade goods during the disembarkation from one ship to another, or when changing from a maritime mode to a terrestrial one, and nearly always within a Mediterranean context.
