Territoris polítics i territoris ètnics a la Catalunya interior i Baix Aragó en època ibèrica

Abstract

Many different readings have been made of the social and political structure of the Iberian territories in central and western Catalonia and Lower Aragón. Some researchers argue that the Ilergetes and Lacetani would have developed centralized state-like political entities, whose territorial scope would have coincided with the geographical limits of their ethnic territories. Other scholars maintain that the genesis of this type of large, politically centralized territory only took place in the Iberian coastal territories (Indiketes, Laietani and Cossetani). The divergence between coastal and inland territories is indeed very clear, especially with regard to the typological diversity of settlements and the hierarchical patterns that structured them. It is therefore possible to consider the existence of other kinds of social organization, perhaps of a heterarchical nature, for the Iberian societies in this part of northern Iberia

Sobre l’anàlisi de l’estructura social i política dels territoris ibers de la Catalunya interior i el Baix Aragó s’han realitzat lectures ben diferents. Alguns investigadors defensen que les poblacions ilergetes i lacetanes haurien desenvolupat entitats polítiques centralitzades, de caràcter estatal. D’altres mantenen que la gènesi, des de principis del període ibèric ple, de grans territoris políticament centralitzats tan sols s’ha verificat en el cas dels territoris ibers costaners (indigets, laietans i cossetans). Un aspecte en què la divergència entre els territoris costaners i interiors és prou clara és la diversitat tipològica d’assentaments i els hipotètics nivells de jerarquització existents. Per tot això, es pot plantejar l’existència d’altres models, tal vegada de caire heteràrquic, per a la resta de comunitats del món ibèric septentrional
