Reflexiones sobre las construcciones con el verbo soporte chi (吃) en chino desde la perspectiva de la gramática cognitiva

Abstract

Este artículo investiga las construcciones metafóricas chinas con el verbo chi 吃 ("comer") con el fin de proporcionar una descripción detallada de sus propiedades lingüísticas. La noción de construcción de verbo soporte (CVS) es la base de este artículo, en el que se analiza este concepto desde un punto de vista cognitivo. Tras una breve caracterización de sus rasgos formales y semánticos, este trabajo se centra en la perspectiva cognitiva que subyace a estas construcciones, que las hace insustituibles por otras expresiones, en un intento de revelar el modo específico en que los hablantes chinos conciben los acontecimientos descritos por ellas. Además, se presta especial atención a la posibilidad de combinar CVS con otros tipos de metáforas, lo que explica la alta productividad y el amplio uso en la vida cotidiana de estas unidades fraseológicas.

This paper investigates Chinese metaphorical constructions with the verb ch 吃 ("eat") in in order to provide a detailed description of their linguistic properties. The notion of light verb construction (LVC) is the basis of this work, in which this concept is analyzed from a cognitive point of view. After a brief characterization of their formal and semantic properties, this paper will focus on the cognitive background underlying these constructions, which makes them irreplaceable by other expressions, in an attempt to reveal the specific way in which Chinese speakers conceive the events described by them. Furthermore, special attention is paid to the possibility of combining LVC with other types of metaphors, which accounts for the high productivity and wide use in daily life of these phraseological units.
