dc.description.abstract |

This article examines the language needs of ex-pupils when they begin work and the variety of communications/nand discourses that await them there. Four major types of communication are distinguished:/ntechnical-scientific (specific to science and technical fields), organizational (determining a company’s internal/nactivity), commercial (advertising, correspondence) and formal (public relations). This diversity of discourses/nand the needs of pupils when they leave school suggest the advisability of making major changes in/nthe types of texts selected for use within school curricula for all age-groups up to the age of sixteen. |
