A catalytic carboxylation of unactivated primary, secondary & tertiary alkyl chlorides with CO2 at atmospheric pressure is described. This protocol represents the first intermolecular cross-electrophile coupling of unactivated alkyl chlorides, thus leading to new knowledge in the cross-coupling arena. |
