Existeix relació entre la psicopatologia i la creativitat? Una revisió teòrica

Abstract

La relació entre la creativitat i la malaltia mental és un dels topics amb més controvèrsia de la recerca moderna sobre la creativitat. Han estat objecte d’estudi degut al lligam que s’ha fet històricament amb la capacitat del “geni” per elaborar obres artístiques i a la vegada, “patir” algun tipus de psicopatologia. Tot i així, és un debat on no hi ha una conclusió acceptada per la gran complexitat per lligar ambdós conceptes. Per tant, en la present revisió teòrica s’evidencien diferents estudis i troballes. Les investigacions al respecte son sobre: a) estudis biogràfics de artistes famosos, b) investigacions sobre la creativitat en pacients psiquiàtrics, c) estudis neuropsicològics, entre d’altres. S’ha realitzat una recerca teòrica, acotant la data des del 1987 fins el 2017. Com a conclusió, s’ha evidenciat que la malaltia mental està lligada a la creativitat en trastorns de tipus afectiu, a nivell cognitiu i genètic. No obstant, encara falten investigacions que corroborin la naturalesa d’aquesta relació a partir d’altres àrees d’estudi.

The relationship between creativity and mental illness is one of the most controversial topics of modern research on creativity. They have been the object of study due to the link that has historically been made with the ability of "genius" to produce artistic works and, at the same time, "suffer" some type of psychopathology. Even so, it is a debate where there is no accepted conclusion due to the great complexity of linking both concepts. Therefore, in the present theoretical review different studies and findings are evidenced. . Research in this regard: a) biographical studies of famous artists, b) research on creativity in psychiatric patients, c) neuropsychological studies, among others. A theoretical research was carried out, finishing the date from 1987 until 2017. As a conclusion, it has been shown that mental illness is linked to creativity, for example in mood disorder, cognitive and genetic. Although research is still lacking that corroborates the nature of this relationship from other areas of study.
