La búsqueda de placer a través del dolor: Revisión acerca de la relación entre TLP y BDSM

Abstract

En este trabajo, hablamos de la incidencia de la actividad sexual sadomasoquista en las pacientes con Trastorno Límite de la Personalidad (TLP). Hipotetizamos que esta preferencia tendrá una funcionalidad semejante al síntoma frecuentemente asociado a este trastorno, la autolesión no-suicida. Para ello procuramos comprender la búsqueda de placer a través del dolor y qué motiva a estos perfiles a llevar a cabo estas prácticas. De esta forma, pondremos en tela de juicio la consideración del sadomasoquismo como trastorno psicológico y valoraremos si está práctica sexual supone un problema o un factor de riesgo añadido para los perfiles TLP. El objetivo que se persigue en este estudio por lo tanto es ampliar la mirada en dos temas que han supuesto un gran tabú en la práctica clínica, como son: el sadomasoquismo y las autolesiones; que han sido llevadas incluso en silencio por muchos pacientes por miedo a la estigmatización. En segundo lugar, pretendemos remarcar la importancia de la investigación, debido a que son temáticas que han sido poco tratadas por la comunidad científica y que necesitan serlo, para proporcionar conocimiento y soporte a los profesionales que tratan con este tipo de pacientes, así como para poder ofrecer un tratamiento bien enfocado.

In this study, we talk about the incidence of sadomasochistic sexual activity in patients with borderline personality disorder (TLP). Hypothesize that this practice will have functionality similar to the symptom frequently associated with this disorder, the non-suicidal self- injure (NSSI). To do this we try to understand the search of pleasure through pain and what motivates these profiles to carry out these practices. This way, we will question the consideration of sadomasochism as a psychological disorder and assess if this sexual practice supposes a problem or one more risk factor for TLP profiles. The objective pursued in this investigation therefore is, to extend the look in two topics that

have been a great taboo in the clinical practice since are: sadomasochism and the auto- injuries, which enclosed have been concealed by many patients for avoiding the stigmatization. Secondly, we intend to emphasize the importance of research, because they are subjects that have been little treated by the scientific community and need to be analyzed, to provide knowledge and support to professionals dealing with this type of patients and that they can be offered a well-focused treatment.
