Els primers auxilis sanitaris a l'escola: una necessitat pel mestre?

Abstract

Una de les tasques principals del docent consisteix en mantenir la seguretat integral dels infants dins de l’entorn escolar. L’aplicació de primers auxilis sanitaris pediàtrics davant d’esdeveniments inesperats que requereixen una actuació ràpida i amb convicció per part del docent, pot influir en la seguretat de l’infant. És per això que aquest estudi pretén esbrinar quins coneixements teorico-pràctics tenen els mestres de l’etapa infantil sobre els primers auxilis sanitaris, així com la importància que tenen en la comunitat educativa actual. Aquest article té un disseny de recerca avaluativa on es realitza un treball de camp per avaluar en quin nivell aquests mestres van rebre formació sobre els primers auxilis sanitaris durant els estudis de Grau. Per mitjà d’entrevistes a experts sanitaris i de l’educació, i d’un qüestionari amb 65 participants, hem obtingut respostes tant quantitatives com qualitatives en relació al grau de coneixement i d’interès dels docents de l’etapa infantil sobre el domini i l’aplicació dels primers auxilis sanitaris pediàtrics a l’escola. Les conclusions de l’estudi mostren que aquests estan poc considerats dins de l’àmbit educatiu i, per tant, els docents no reben la suficient formació per poder atendre una urgència pediàtrica.

One of the main tasks of teachers is to maintain the integral safety of children within the school environment. The application of first pediatric health aids to unexpected events that require fast and convincing action on the part of the teacher can influence on child's safety. That is why this study tries to find out what theoretical and practical knowledge of early childhood teachers have about the first healthcare, as well as the importance they have in the current educational community. This article has an evaluation research design where a field work is based on the level they received training on the first health care during the Degree studies. Through two interviews with health experts and a questionnaire with 65 participants, we have obtained both quantitative and qualitative responses in relation to the degree of knowledge and interest of the teachers of the children's stage on the domain and the application of the first Pediatric healthcare at school. The conclusions of the study show that these are rarely considered in the educational field, so teachers do not receive sufficient training to attend to a pediatric emergency.
