Efectes de les xarxes socials durant la infància

Abstract

Les xarxes socials formen part de la realitat de tota la societat, i cada dia les persones hi accedeixen amb edats cada cop més joves. L’objectiu d’aquest estudi és conèixer els efectes que tenen les xarxes socials cap als infants de 8 a 12 anys per tal de donar resposta a les necessitats formatives del centre educatiu Joan Maragall. La recerca es va dur a terme a partir d’unes entrevistes a especialistes en TIC i educació, i mitjançant uns “focus group” als alumnes i als mestres de l’escola Joan Maragall. Els resultats han mostrat que hi ha una gran necessitat d’adaptar l’augment d’hores d’ús de les xarxes socials dels infants cap a una educació digital perquè es faci un ús responsable de les eines digitals. És per això que la formació per als mestres estarà focalitzada en tres eixos bàsics: Conèixer els efectes de les xarxes socials, descobrir la realitat digital i variant dels infants de cicle mitjà i superior, i crear i compartir recursos per educar als infants en l’actual societat digital.

Social media is everywhere, and every day younger people have access to these networks, exposing themselves to all the risks without knowing them. Many studies have exposed all of the risks in social media, including the manipulation of emotions, influences on thoughts, and self-esteem. (Igartua, 2002) & (APA, 2007). However, very few researchers have shown the effects on children. The purpose of this study is to investigate about the effects of social media on children and give resources to teachers and educators in Joan Maragall school of Arenys de Mar. This will be accomplished via an analysis of necessities of the object of study, which are the students and teachers of the school. The study uses qualitative methods such as focus groups for the students and teachers to analyze the reality and the educational needs in this school. In addition, interviews are also used with a selection of professionals in education and technologies to know their opinion on the subject. The analysis showed that children make a big use of social media while educators need more tools to help children use social media responsibly. The final result of this research is a training plan for teachers to have more resources to use in real situations with children.
